Anna Psaradakis

Creative, Adventurer, Student, Leader.

Embarking on an academic adventure in Media Studies all while studying culture, curating art shows, and finding solace in Elmer's glue and magazine cutouts.

About Me.

I've always cherished my headstrong and vulnerable nature, often viewed as weaknesses by some, but undeniably, they've been my greatest strengths. These qualities have guided me through an array of jobs, life's twists, and ultimately directed me toward higher education in a field deeply aligned with my passions.

From my early years, my spirited personality was never something that was celebrated - my assertiveness was made into family jokes about how I should pursue a career in law, which never became a reality. Instead, my innate desire to amplify voices, including my own, remained steadfast. At the age of 16, I stumbled upon collage art—a medium that allowed me to express myself through magazine cutouts and Elmer's glue. This discovery evolved into the birth of CopyPasteCollage at 18, where I quickly expanded my platform. It became clear that my passion wasn't solely about sharing my stories; it was about creating a nurturing space for others to share theirs.

My artistic journey took a significant leap at 23 when I curated my first pop-up art show. By year-end, I embarked on a second curation project, uniting talents from across New York. This platform served as a canvas for narratives encompassing love, grief, acculturation, struggle, and the essence of life itself.

Embarking on my journey toward a Master's Degree in Media Studies at Queens College - City University of New York, I've traversed a path rich with diverse experiences and educational pursuits. Earning a Bachelor's in Anthropology alongside a background in Psychology, my undergraduate years were a mix of turbulence and growth, ultimately propelling me back into academia for an enriching exploration of Media Studies. Graduate school has been nothing short of amazing, I have already learned so much and am so excited to continue expanding my knowledge.

Today, I'm driven by a relentless pursuit—to amplify voices, foster storytelling, and encourage self-expression. This fervor fuels my academic pursuit in Media Studies, where I aspire to harness the influential power of media to elevate diverse narratives.
